Support

Write to support@dancehr.app. Tell us what the watch shows under About → Support → Contact Us (My ID, name, watch and build); that is how we find your watch, we hold no name or e-mail for it. About → Support → Send Report on the watch sends us its log; quote the report number.

Questions we get

The partner's pulse shows "..."

Both watches must run DanceHR with Partner On, and each must know the other's ID. The easy way: open Partner Settings → Partner Pairing on both watches at the same time and confirm each other. Or type the other watch's My ID under Partner ID. Without a partner ID the watch listens to nobody.

The dot at the top of the screen is the ANT+ link to your partner's watch.

Green dot: your partner's watch is connected.

Red dot blinking: searching. Come closer; ANT+ reaches a few metres on a crowded floor.

Red dot: no partner ID. Pair first.

No dot: Partner is Off.

Out of ANT+ range, Partner+ HR carries the pulse over the phones instead. Then the globe beside the battery matters: see "I cannot see my partner's or a friend's arrow" below, the colours mean the same. Link Test in Partner Settings shows what is happening on either watch.

The arrows screen says "waiting for my GPS"

Your own watch has no position yet. Location comes from the watch's own GPS: go outside with a view of the sky; the first fix after a long break can take a few minutes.

The satellite icon is your GPS.

Green: good.

Yellow: weak.

Red blinking: searching.

Red: the GPS could not start.

I cannot see my partner's or a friend's arrow

Look at the globe icon beside the battery first. It is your own connection to the internet.

Red globe: nothing reaches you. Your phone is not nearby, or has no coverage. Fix that first.

Blue globe: you are connected, nobody has sent a position yet. Wait a moment.

Green globe and the screen says "no location yet": the problem is on their watch. They must press Start Sharing too, with Partner+ Location on or the same group, and their watch needs its own GPS fix (a view of the sky).

Green globe and the screen says "last seen 3 min ago", the arrow dotted: their watch stopped sending. Their phone is out of reach or without coverage, or they closed the app. The arrow points at where they were last.

Is DanceHR+ really free?

Yes. Press Activate DanceHR+ on the watch; it has no expiry date. The cloud infrastructure costs us money, so a coffee is welcome, never required. Should that ever change, your watch tells you months ahead at the start of a sharing session.

Should I ever change My ID?

Almost never. The watch makes its own number and keeps it. The one case: Pair Now shows your own number, or your partner's watch hears two DanceHR watches with the same number. Then tap My ID on the watch that clashes, confirm New ID, and pair again. Do not change it otherwise; your partner would have to pair again for nothing.

I have a new watch

Press Activate DanceHR+ on the new watch; every watch gets its own activation. (If you ever hold a activation code, enter the same code on the new watch and confirm "Move it here"; the old watch loses it.)

Can I use it without a phone?

Yes. Everything on the dance floor works without a phone: your pulse, zones and rest meter, the alerts, vitamins and water, the Dance History, and your partner's pulse over ANT+ (the watches talk to each other directly).

The DanceHR+ sharing features (Partner+ HR, Partner+ Location, Group+ Location) travel through the Garmin Connect app on your phone, so for those the phone must be nearby and online.

Delete my data

Your pulse and position live on the relay only while you share: every message replaces the last one, and a group forgets a silent watch after a day. What stays is the record of your watch (its device id, watch model and firmware, app version, nickname, when DanceHR+ was first activated, how much the relay was used) and any support report you sent.

You can end this yourself, on the watch: Sharing Settings → DanceHR+ Config → Deactivate (or Setup → Reset to Defaults, which also clears your nickname, age and partner). The internet features stop at once and your watch is marked for deletion: its last message, support reports and log lines are removed within a day. The record itself stays, marked deactivated, so that a later activation continues where it was; Activate brings DanceHR+ back at any time.

If you want the rest gone too, write to us with your My ID (About → Support → Contact Us): we erase everything we hold about your watch except its ID and the date of its first activation. See the privacy policy.
